The Kalakala is currently moored in Tacoma, Washington.  We are planning the restoration works at a Tacoma shipyard, dry dock, or rail facility.  We will present our construction proposals to all State and Local Pierce county regulatory and political agencies during the year 2010.

The Kalakala first priority is to get her out of water by end of 2010.  Then, time will not be so critical and we can manage a progressive and successful recovery and restoration of the Kalakala.  She now has access to available grants, loans, and potential local resources that can assist future works.

She also has future moorage plans within Port Angeles and potentially tour the city of Seattle, Tacoma, and other communities in the future during the peak tourist seasons.

Our goal today is to get her out of water while repairs are being completed.
