Click here for a mail-in donation form. Employer matching Many employers match charitable contributions. This is a great way to stretch your donation dollars. Please indicate on your donation form if your employer has a matching program (e.g., Microsoft, Boeing). Donate Stock If you hold stocks and mutual funds that have increased substantially in value since the time of purchase, you may face significant income taxes. To reduce these taxes, consider either a gift of cash, appreciated stock or mutual fund shares. If you are considering a major gift to the Kalakala Foundation, making your donation with appreciated stocks or mutual fund shares offers tremendous tax advantages. It's simple, efficient and can allow you to give more that you thought possible. If you donate your securities directly to the Kalakala Foundation, you avoid paying capital gains on the profit you've gained - and you receive a full tax deduction for the value of your gift. This makes a stock gift much more tax-wise than a cash gift. Many donors find they can make much larger gifts than they thought possible. Making the gift is easy. Just contact the Kalakala Foundation to arrange the stock transfer. We will provide you with an information sheet and a sample letter to facilitate the transfer. Please note that your name will not accompany an electronic transfer of shares, so it is very important that you notify our staff of your intent. We will then notify our broker or mutual fund company to expect a gift from you. The value of your gift will be calculated by using the mean value of each share on the date the shares arrive in our brokerage or mutual fund account. If you are concerned about the timing of your gift, please be sure to work closely with your broker or mutual fund company to insure that the shares are transferred in a timely manner. Planned Gifts Bequest Gifts are also an important and easy way to help the Kalakala Foundation. They don't require you to give any current assets, and can be placed in your will with the simple language, I give $________ to the Kalakala Foundation, Seattle, Washington or I give ___% of my estate (or residuary estate) to the Kalakala Foundation, Seattle, Washington. Please consult your attorney whenever you prepare or change your will. Life Insurance Policies can also be given to the Kalakala Foundation. Do you have a life insurance policy that was to pay for your children's education in case something happened to you? If they are grown then you may want to consider donating that policy to the Kalakala Foundation. Corporate Gifts The Kalakala Foundation will be happy to reciprocate by including your corporate logo on our sponsors' page, and/or consider ways to promote your firm's involvement on board the Kalakala, or at special events. Donate Materials Please contact the Kalakala Foundation before donating materials of any kind. We have very specific materials needs for the restoration, such as glass, plexiglass and sheets of steel, however, unsuitable materials can create a disposal problem for us. Our office network
is also growing. Please contact us prior to donating computing equipment
or peripherals to ensure they are compatible with our current network,
and that we can put them to good use. KALAKALA
